The Lotus Playwriting Project is one of our most successful professional development programs, initiated by Playwriting Australia in partnership with CAAP and generously supported by the Girgensohn Foundation.
More than 70 emerging writers have participated in the program, benefitting from high level training and mentorship from some of Australia’s most experienced playwrights.
Four Lotus writers – Katrina Irawati Graham, Shari Indriani, Ngoc Phan and Natesha Somasundaram - were featured at the 2016 National Play Festival, presenting performed readings of excerpts from their plays. It was without a doubt one of the highlights of the Festival.
Six writers have been invited to continue developing their plays in the next phase of the Lotus Playwriting Project.
